What a fantastic final year for our Year Six children leaving us today. They have seen the year out in style with two awe inspiring productions of ‘The Lion King’ and a wonderful celebration of all their achievements at a ‘Night at the Oscars’.The children have worked incredibly hard this year and we are extremely proud of each and every one of them. We wish them every success at high school- goodbye and good luck!
Wow, what a show! Well done to all the year 6 children in this year’s production. Here are the photographs from both nights.
Don’t forget that you can still contact the school if you would like to order a DVD.
A huge congratulations to all of the children and parent helpers from the Art Club who attended the Mirfield Carnival: Mirfield takes Flight on Sunday 16th July. Mrs Argyle was extremely proud with how well the children pulled together as a team to lead the procession of schools and artists. You looked amazing!!
The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every year during the summer holidays. You can sign up at your local library, then read six library books of your choice to complete the Challenge. There are exclusive rewards to collect along the way, and it’s FREE to take part! The challenge is aimed at 4-12 year olds, but this year there is a special challenge for under 4 year olds as well.
The Summer Reading Challenge website helps you keep track of your reading all year round: find new books to read, take part in competitions and play games.
In addition to the challenge, over the summer all Kirklees Libraries will be having free events, including Stop-Motion Animation Workshops, Meet a Creature, Yorkshire Owl Experience, author talks and all sorts of other activities. Find out more and book a place here:
This week children from year 4 visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park! They had the opportunity to see and learn about lots of different animals including Squirrel Monkeys, Lemurs, Wallabies, Polar Bears, Lions, Giraffes and Baboons!
The children had a fantastic time and learnt about where the animals come from, their natural habitat and what they eat. We hope that you enjoy the picture gallery below.
A magnificent £806.78 was raised at the Easter Fayre! The school council would like to thank everyone for their generous donations, efforts and support.
The School Council will be consulting with pupils on what the money will be used for.
