This week children from year 4 visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park! They had the opportunity to see and learn about lots of different animals including Squirrel Monkeys, Lemurs, Wallabies, Polar Bears, Lions, Giraffes and Baboons!
The children had a fantastic time and learnt about where the animals come from, their natural habitat and what they eat. We hope that you enjoy the picture gallery below.
A magnificent £806.78 was raised at the Easter Fayre! The school council would like to thank everyone for their generous donations, efforts and support.
The School Council will be consulting with pupils on what the money will be used for.
Year 3 have been looking at the Jewish religion and finding out what it means to be Jewish; what does Judaism teach us, where does it stem from and how it impacts the lives of those who follow its teachings.
As part of their learning they visited a Jewish Synagogue.
Yesterday the school council visited the Houses of Parliament! The trip was funded by the Mayor of Kirklees after Crossley Fields raised the most money in the bake sale.
It was a great experience for the school council. Not only did they visit Westminster Hall they also watched a live debate in the House of Commons, met the local MP for Mirfield Paula Sherriff, met Lord Dubs, went on the London Eye and posed for a photo on platform 9 3/4!
We really appreciate the efforts made by you all for the bake sale and for helping to raise so much money.
Red Nose Day is Friday 24th March. We think it would be great fun if all children were to wear a Red Hat or Hair and red accessories – Including shoes! All appropriate RED accessories are to be worn alongside their school uniform.
The link below downloads snuffles money box that children can colour in and make. This money box is to encourage children to raise their own money to donate to Comic Relief rather than bringing in the usual £1 from parents. The box is to be made at home and brought in on Friday 24th March with their donation inside. This is something we have not done before but hope it will give feeling of being more involved with raising money to give to charity.
A youtube link to the Comic Relief song that we are learning is also provided below!
Thank you for your support.
